Avoca by Bray silver nitrate pencils

Silver nitrate has antimicrobial properties that can help prevent and treat infections in wounds. It works by releasing silver ions, which are toxic to bacteria and other microorganisms, thereby reducing the risk of infection and promoting wound healing. Silver nitrate works by chemically cauterising the skin to stop bleeding and destroys any unwanted tissue making it an effective treatment for warts and verrucae and. This process kills warts and verrucae, turning the dead skin black, and allowing it be filed away using the emery board in the wart and verruca treatment pack. How do I look after the pencil tip?

Users should ensure that the pencil tip is thoroughly dried after use by gently drying it with a tissue.

Pencil tip breakage may occur if too much water or pressure is used, or the tip is not dried between uses.

The user should swirl just the very end of the pencil tip in a single droplet of water for around 20-30 seconds before use to activate the product and then transfer this droplet to the area to be treated without pressure. Do not press on the tip.

It is likely that the silver nitrate pencil tip has dissolved as it is very soluble in water. This can happen when the tip has been exposed to excessive amounts of water or not dried before replacing the cap.

There are no age restrictions for using Avoca by Bray silver nitrate products. They are licensed for use on individuals of all ages.

Based on feedback from healthcare professionals, the lower-strength 40% Avoca product is generally preferred when treating very young infants.
